Georgie Parkes Swim School at St Lucia operates 4 terms per year concurrent with the State School terms.

During the December / January holidays, Easter holidays and September holidays intensive Learn to Swim and Squad Clinics are available. Swim school is closed for the June/July holidays.

GPSS is a highly technical swim school providing our students with the best technique and skill development coaching for optimal swimming efficiency. Developing correct motor patterns and automated skill efficiencies at a young age allows for unlimited growth and development potential. Regardless if your child has aspirations to become and Olympian or simply an efficient safe and strong swimmer, learning correct and efficient technical skills at primary school age is far more important and simply swimming laps. Bad swimming technique leads to injury, frustration, slow, inefficient, unsafe swimming and ultimately dissatisfaction and disappointment.

Not all Swim Schools are the same. We are NOT an ON MASS teaching swim school where children are taught in small restricted pool space and can get lost in the system or left behind because they are learning and developing at different rates. Every child at GPSS is closely monitored weekly and our teaching styles and philosophy caters for different strengths and weakness of each individual. Our Advanced Learn to Swim classes are all conducted in 20 or 25m pool space.

GST Free Lessons

To comply with the Australian Taxation Commission guidelines for GST free services, we include personal Aquatic Survival Skills in all of our Learn to Swim levels. These include:

Sculling
Treading water
Floating
Safe entry and exit from the water
Techniques for clothed swimming survival
Use of devices to assist rescue
Basic swimming skills
